Product Name: PTC and Outer Approximation GUI PIEs
  GIS -based Pre and Post-processor Graphical-User Interfaces for preparing Princeton Transport Code (PTC) input data and viewing model output for use within Argus ONE

PTC-GUI PIE allows the user to graphicaly input all the GIS data, run PTC, and visualize the results all from within Argus ONE easy-to-use graphical workplace. PTC-GUI PIE installs its menus and dialogs into Argus ONE so that all tasks of setting MODFLOW control parameters such as the number of geological layers, running PTC and visualizing PTC output is performed from within Argus ONE.

Once again, the generic nature of Argus ONE proves its benefits over model specific pre- and post-processors. Using Argus ONE's powerful Export Template Scripting Language, developers and users of PTC created an Argus ONE Plug-In Extension (PIE) which automatically creates all the necessary data (input) files for PTC.

Creating the fully integrated PTC GUI PIE and the Argus ONE export template for PTC did not require any changes in PTC itself thus, any PTC version can be used in conjunction with this GUI PIE. The GUI PIE can be used as is, or it can be continuously changed by the developers to support future features of PTC and Argus ONE.

Moreover, it is worthwhile to mention for other GUI developers sake, that the developers of the PTC GUI PIE relied on the MODFLOW-GUI PIE source code. This source code, which is in the public domain also assisted other GUI PIEs developers such as the FEMWATER GUI PIE in their work. Adopting the USGS MODFLOW GUI-PIE saved such developers thousands of development hours.

Model: PTC, the Princeton Transport Code, is a three-dimensional, finite-element/difference simulation program for groundwater flow and solute transport. PTC is used in many super-fund sites. PTC has been successfully used with Argus ONE since April 94 in consulting, research, and professional and academic training.
